Santa Maria Veteran Affairs Clinic
On 3.6 acres, the 36,200 sf. facility incorporates a traditional Spanish Colonial style that is the predominant architectural vernacular. The building is designed to promote energy efficiency that will provide a long-term sustainable, economical and environmentally friendly facility. The outer envelope of the building has a skin of cement plaster using three earth tones. The plaster will cover metal studs attached to a steel superstructure on a slab on grade. A tower element signifies the main entry along with a welcoming Spanish tile covered canopy. Natural lighting is provided all along the perimeter of the building and skylights offer filtered lighting to the interior.
